Hi all,

First time poster as well. Glad to join the community. In thinking about making my own Nuruk, I was wondering if anyone tried "inoculating" their wheat/flour paddy with store-purchased Nuruk.

I noticed that in many Korean documentaries or pictures showing how Nuruk is made (attached) the paddies seem to be left to ferment on the same straw that previously fermented Nuruk used to sit on. I wonder if this ensures that the right kind of mold grows on the wheat.

Following this line of thought, I'm wondering if mixing a bit of store-purchased Nuruk with my Nuruk preparation could have the same effect. Essentially bypassing the use of spore-containing foliage/plant matter and providing the right molds from the get-go.

Cheers,
